I’m so excited I can barely contain myself. With no word yet on a North American release date for David Cronenberg’s 19th feature film release, at least we can revel in the reality that a trailer has finally been presented! It has French subtitles, and it’s strictly for adults only—but it’s thrilling to get a glimpse of what David C. has in store for us soon. The film is expected to premiere at Cannes next month, plus it shows a France release of May 21st, with the expected U.S. unveiling to occur in the fall. Robert Pattinson and Sarah Gadon are on board, two years after both appeared in Cronenberg’s previous effort, “Cosmopolis”. And we can already spot some “body horror”, concerning the burn-scarred face of the character played by Mia Wasikowska! It’s also the first DC film appearance for the prolific John Cusack. Same goes for star Julianne Moore. And I just have to point out how STUNNING Ms. Moore appears with barely any clothing on—at the age of 53! Be still my 48 year-old heart. I’ve already been hearing comparisons of the movie to David Lynch’s masterpiece, “Mulholland Dr.”, so this coming autumn should prove to be an exhilarating time for all of us “rabid” fans of Mr. Cronenberg. Plus, it marks the first time that David has shot something in the United States!
